Carthage’s first two engineering ambassadors, Madison Cook ’28 and Maxine Lathrop ’27, joined students from four other schools in the Engineering Ambassadors Network (EAN) —Tennessee Tech, Berkley, University of Minnesota, and Iowa State — at the University of Minnesota to develop assertion-evidence presentations they will use for outreach activities with local elementary-age students.

Two students giving a presentation to a group of students sitting at a table. The EAN is a collaborative initiative connecting colleges, universities, and their engineering students to reshape the narrative around pursuing a career in engineering. At Carthage, our engineering ambassadors will spearhead outreach efforts to K-12 students in the Kenosha and Racine areas, promoting the recruitment of a diverse future generation of engineers.

Additionally, they will engage with prospective students and their families, offering critical insights from the student perspective.

Carthage’s engineering ambassadors are advised by Professor Kathryn Hasz. The network is financially supported Raytheon Technologies (RTX).
